China Tour 2008: members' comments

This year’s China tour “Glimpse of Chinese Ancient Civilization” (古中国文明掠影) has been most successful with full capacity. This is all due to the meticulous planning and experience of our chairman Mr David Su. We have tour members already enquiring about next year’s tour……
 
Here are some of the comments and experiences from the tour members:-
 
My favourite location on the tour was the very first, the Forbidden City. It was a bright, sunny day and therefore the yellow glazed tiles on the roofs of the palace were gleaming. I love the sheer scale and majesty of the complex, in particular the way that gates and halls succeed one another.

Congratulations to our Dragon Boat team - and thank you to all our sponsors and supporters!

21 volunteers from the Meridian Society and BBCN took part in the London Hong Kong Dragon Boat Race on Sunday 8 June. It was a fantastic day and the team raised over £2,000 in sponsorship for the British Red Cross Sichuan Earthquake Appeal!

Sichuan Earthquake Appeal

In January 2008, the Society will be launching BBCN - British Born Chinese Network - with the aim of embracing yet another significant group:  people of Chinese origin or mixed parentage, born or brought up in the UK, who wish to discover their Chinese heritage and, at the same time, see how best to integrate it into “being British”.
